Privacy Policy

WakeKeep is designed to work locally on your device. The current release does not require an account, display advertising, use third-party analytics, or track you across apps and websites.

Information you add

You may add vessel and equipment details, engine hours, maintenance schedules, service history, trips, fuel fill-ups, documents, onboard spares, safety-check status, costs, photographs, receipts, and other attachments. This content is stored in the app's local data container on your Apple device.

Photographs and text recognition

When you choose or capture a photograph, WakeKeep uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to recognize nameplate text. WakeKeep does not send the image to our servers for OCR.

Exports and sharing

Boat Passport PDFs, float plans, individual attachments, and complete WakeKeep backup files are prepared on your device. They leave the app only when you intentionally choose a destination from Apple's share sheet. The privacy practices of that destination then apply.

Backups and restoration

A complete WakeKeep backup can include boat records and copies of attachments stored by the app. You control where an exported backup is saved and whether a backup is restored. Protect exported backups as you would other private boat records, and review the source before restoring a file.

Notifications

If you enable owner reminders, WakeKeep asks iOS to schedule maintenance and document-expiry notifications locally. WakeKeep does not operate a push notification server and does not receive your reminder data.

Collection, sale, and tracking

WakeKeep does not currently operate a user-data backend. We do not sell personal information and do not use advertising identifiers, cross-app tracking, or your device location for navigation or trip tracking. The coordinate-conversion tool only processes the values you enter. Apple may process diagnostic and App Store transaction information under Apple's own terms and privacy policy.

Retention and deletion

Records remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. Shared exports and backup files must be deleted separately from any destination to which you sent them. Apple-managed device backups may retain app data according to your Apple settings.

Children

WakeKeep is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If a future release introduces cloud processing, accounts, analytics, or other data collection, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before that release.
